[ He can't think of any other reason Vex would've recommended that a kid like him come Grog's way. It's not like he's gonna share a drink with a teenager, so the only other explanation would be that he's a fighter. ]

[ Grog thinks about that for a minute before trying a reply. ]

[ There's a long pause, as he tries to piece together what the joke exactly is. He's got two braincells and they're both working overdrive. But sooner or later, he gets it. ]

I can assure you that they like you too, they are fans of Uncle Grog-- and with good reason, he is the strongest man they know, and also Uncle Grog gives them frequent soft food.

( Inside the castle was pleasantly warm and downright cozy for a castle. Night Sky tugged her boots off and shed her sweater, leaving her in a looser top and leggings as she walked down the hall toward the kitchen. )

In the castle or the world? Because I think it's almost about the same for both- six months? ( Red Son got the place only a few weeks after her arrival. ) You?

[ Grog follows along, scratching the top of his bald head in idle thought. ]

Mmm... I'm not so good with numbers. Prob'ly about the same.

[ He doesn't have much concept of how long ago six months would've been. It's hard, when he doesn't really know what six of anything is. ]

You got a nice castle, though. It's good that they got these places around for folks.

Well, Azem or not, ya can join me for a drink any time ya like. Maybe when ya do, ya can tell me what this Azem business's all about.

What does it mean? Well, it means somebody who gets real angry, an' they use that rage to fight. Makes 'em stronger, like.

[ He scratches his head though, not sure what Vex would've been talking about. ]

Magical fruit...? I don' remember eatin' any magical fruits.

[ Grog just smiles. ]

Tha's good. Vex is a good friend ta have. She's smart, she's strong, an' she's real good with money.

You can thank Red Son for that. He paid the shards for damn near everything here, and half the heating is just from him existing. ( Which was nice when it was too cold to go outside.

She scooted into the kitchen and grabbed two mugs. On the counter was some meal Red Son must have made and left for others to partake in. ) You hungry? It's probably spicy as fuck, but usually edible.

[ Grog sets one of the bottles down on the counter and uncorks the other one, pouring it out into the two mugs. He shoots a glance over at the food, looking intrigued. ]

I could eat. Spiciness never bothered me none.

Come by Castle Exandria! Ya can't miss it, it's the one with the garden out front an' a bear livin' in the courtyard.

That would very much narrow it down. Or if it did not, I would have so many questions as to why!

I think I understand! [ He's pretty familiar with channeling your anger into helping you fight better but he gets the feeling there's more to it in this case... Maybe it's like Sato except instead of food it's rage that makes you stronger... ]

Oh... Maybe it hasn't happened for you yet? People can come from different points in time even if they're from the same place, that happened with my friends and me... but she said you ate some fruit from a special tree? The Tree of the Sun I think it was called? It had something to do with the god she's the champion of...

( It's some manner of noodle with vegetables and an orange tinged sauce, and a handful of steamed buns that look to still be actually steaming. She goes about quickly making two bowls, plopping a bun on top. )

I bet the shit Red Son actually eats would. It's hotter than the sun. Here. ( She handed him a bowl. ) Trade you. ( and took a mug in turn, leaving the bottles on the counter to meander toward the table and kick a chair out for Grog first. She sat down after.)

So, Grog. Besides drinking. What do you do for fun?

Ooh? [ Grog's intrigued by the sound of something that spicy. He sits, grabbing the bun off the top of his bowl and gesticulating with it a bit while he talks. ]

I drink, I fight. I like to go to the house of lady favors, if ya know what I mean. But there ain't much o' those around here. [ He looks at the bun, licking his lips as he prepares to take a bite. ] Me'n my pals saved the world once er twice.

[ And then POP! In goes the bun......... Which is indeed Extremely Spicy. It may, in fact, be Too Spicy. But Grog doesn't want to admit it, so he just forcefully swallows, and reaches for his drink with a shaking hand, sweat dripping down his face. ]

Night Sky has begun building a tolerance for spice thanks to her time spent with Red Son. That said, she was still wary enough that she only took the smallest of bites. ) You guys heroes or - Oh my gods.
